For the last 16 years of my life we have lived in places where the sun shines abundantly.
We lived 7 years in Mesa, AZ where the sun burns....and I do mean BURNS...brightly most of the year round.
We moved to New Mexico where we lived for the next 9 years with about the same amount of sunlight, with a fraction of the heat.
You can never really appreciate something until you have lived without it. And for the last 16 years, I haven't had to live without the sun.
Until now....
We moved to Logan, UT this last August. Beautiful place. Beautiful fields of green all over. Mountains to the east and to the west. Perfect weather.
But then the sun decided hide from me. It's been hiding since Dec.
It goes to bed early and it gets up late. It hides behind snow clouds, (snow...something that we love and have never really lived in) . It hides behind the fog. It hides behind the inversion. Why?
I really miss it. I miss waking up to sun on a cold day. I miss it's warm light as it fills the sky in the middle of the day. I miss sitting in front of my living-room window as the sun sets and seeing the last of it's light tucking away behind the mountains.
So you can imagine my excitement when I came outside and saw this....
Hello, Old Friend. Why don't you stay a while?
Linking up with Jen Matlock's Warm Heart Wednesday.

Beautiful sunshine! Living in Iowa, I can certainly relate.
I grew up in NJ and the winters were long and gray. It seemed we never saw the sun. It got depressing after a while. I've lived in the Houston area for years and we have plenty of sun year round. I would be more than happy to give up the sun in the summer!
Hi Stef ~~ Sorry about my other comment, you are on Teresa's Mr. Linky. I just didn't recognize you. Your move made me wonder, it can't be all bad unless someone MADE you move. Do you remember President Regan saying, "Vote with your feet?" Gobs of people took his advice and moved to our Houston. And yes, we do have pretty hills, trees, and fields just north of town, about 50 miles. But not here in Katy where moved, no trees or fields but we do have some trees.
..
At least you had the chance to live in warm places ! I never had, I only had it on holidays. Here too since October we have rainy, grey and short days. Sometimes I think I don't even know how a blue sky looks like ! Fortunately I had been in Egypt in December where I had my share of warmth and sunshine. I depend very much on light !
I remember Logan from my University of Utah days as being colder than SLC and snowier, too. But I"m surprised the sun never comes out…that's what I liked better in Utah than when hubs and I lived in Chicago…I thought in Utah the sun always came out after the snow. (Not so true in Chicago!)
Hope you see more sun, soon. I don't do well without it, having grown up in Southern California.
=)
Oh, you lucky duck! You can see the sun? I'm an hour south of you and put my bra on at noon only to take it off again at five, because it's eternally gray and there's no point to even try to function. I'm praying the inversion goes back to hell where it came from and leaves us alone for a few days.
How nice of your dear old friend the sun to pay you a visit. I think Utah must be a beautiful state.
The sun has got it's hat on for you, hip, hip, hip, hip hooray ... I must admit I'd suffer from SAD without the sunshine :) Let's hope you see it again soon.

Here comes the sun!
Here comes the sun!
And I say.
It's all right!
I'm so glad it found you to warm by your body and your heart with it's lovely rays.
Thanks for linking to week 13 and warming my heart.
