Didn't have a clue

He had it and I didn't even know it.

Hand Foot and Mouth Disease.

It was more like Mild Fever, Cold Sore, Peeling Skin Disease.

The first night he came in with a slight fever. I drugged him up, made him the bed on the floor of my room, and sleep he did. We watched him. He was a little grouchy...that's not abnormal for him...so we kept him on meds for a day or two, but then he seemed okay.

Then a few days later, his lips started to look chapped. Out came the chapstick. Only the chapping seemed to turn into cold sore looking things. But that is a normal thing here. We live in a high desert. Chapped lips are part of the deal. They lasted about a week.

I was showing my sister-in-law his cold sores and she said maybe it was Hand Foot and Mouth Disease.

Inconcievable!

But then a few days later I see him pulling at something on his foot. Sure enough...there is skin peeling off his foot. Toes. Heels. How did I miss this? I mean, hello!!

Yup. He had it, alright.

And I didn't even know.

Because I'm still overwhelmed...

...I'm still posting pictures.

...and because I miss them terribly.

Just walk away...

There are two things I'm good at growing. One is children. The other is flowers.

Both take time. Both take patience. Both need weeding and nurturing. And work at these things I have.

My kids are great! My flowers were wonderful!!

Then we moved away.

I went back to the old house to get my rose bushes. Yeah, the ones I got for Mothers Day last year and wasn't able to plant them yet so they are still in pots. Those ones.

When I got there I was a little excited to see my flowers. This is what I saw...

One week, people. One week.

Should I be worried about my kids?

Dropping a line...or two.

Boy, I haven't been on here for a while. Moving is a pain...buying a house is a pain. Doing both at the same time...yeah, well... you get the picture.

My blogging mojo....must be packed in some box...in my storage unit. Don't worry....I think I know where it is...I just need to find the time to pull it out.

This week I have been spending a lot of time with my oldest. He is so wonderful! I love him. We have been to swim team every morning, Red Lobster, the dump, the movies to watch Avengers, Wal-Mart. This guy even went with me to a Girl's Night Out. He must love me.

Hubs is such a trooper. He took the kids up north....even with half of them sick and complaining of tummy aches and fire poop. Yeah, he's great. He also got the winshield and the lights replaced on our van. Don't you love having to fix up your car so that you won't get a ticket in another state.

Yeah, that's how we roll.

Yeah, I miss them.

Besides feeling a little out of sorts, and missing my family, I think I may just enjoy a few mornings to sleep in next week.

That's all I've got.

Because I'm moving this week...

...out of our home...

...into our storage unit...

...and into other peoples' houses...

...and I have stress coming out my eyeballs...

...this is all I have to offer....

...extremely cute pictures of my family...

One by one my foot!

Which one is your favorite?

When I was younger, it was Lucky Charms. I think I liked them because of the marshmallows. Imagine that. I still like them....

I went through a Raisin Bran phase. I have a preference for Cheerios with fruit.

But this is my new favorite.

Reese's Puffs

I made the mistake of sharing them with my children. Sometimes that selfless, nurturer in me should just keep quiet. Now my kids love them too. That is why we rarely have them. I buy them, my kids inhale them and I am left with an empty box in my hand.

Apparently my children aren't the only critters I have to fend off.
We left for about 20 minutes with one of these on the ground and came back to find the whole colony enjoying my peanuty chocolate puff.

Ugh...I hate ants. Especially the ones who eat my cereal.

What's your cereal of choice?

Some itches...

...need to be scratched.

Wouldn't you agree??

Gram-it!

I'm telling you people...Instagram has changed my life forever! Okay, slight exaggeration. But it sure is helping me take more pictures

Like the one where Brig was mad. Yeah, he was mad at me because he put charcoal all over his face.

Or what about when I lied on accident. I said I had voted...because I had planned to go in before work. But then life happened and voting didn't. Glad to have that one lingering on my conscience.

Then there was the fruit smoothie mustache.

Would gladly forget the day that was so stressful that it deserved a Diet Coke. Okay...so everyday deserves a Diet Coke....but this day in particular was either a Diet Coke or strangle the child. I went with with the Coke.

How about the impatient child who couldn't wait for breakfast. (I know...I know... But I couldn't help taking a picture of it first before suggesting a tissue.)

Here's the book I'm reading that looks really quite strange but is actually quite interesting!

Here's the one where all the women were checking out Hubs. What? There are no women in this picture? I was talking about you!

Alas! Finally!! The real reason I love summer!!

So, did you Instagram this week? Let's see it. Linking up with InstaFriday.

BTW: Just a question. Any of you ever wanted to guestpost? My next week is gonna be INSANE! If you are interested, lmk and we can work something out. Thanks!

This too shall pass....

I'm feeling it.

Deep down....it's rumbling. I try to keep it there...but it has reared it's ugly head.

I'm stressed.

You see, we are buying a house. At least that is what we are trying to do. You see, it's a short sale...which isn't short. Nope. Not. At. All.

We put in our offer the beginning of Feb. It was accepted. Yay! Now all we needed was their bank to approve the price (which we heard they already had...because that's what pre-approved means.) Apparently not.

It is now June.

Did I forget to mention that our lease was up June 1st? Yes, that is June 1, 2012. As in last week. Lucky for us, we are renting from friends and they offered to let us stay longer. So we will be out of our/their house June 15.

Yes, that would mean after next Friday, we are homeless.

But only technically. Meaning, we have no place of our own to lay our heads. Instead, we have family and friends who don't completely understand what they are getting into, but have offered their homes nonetheless.

So Hubs and the kids will be staying with family for 3 weeks. I will be staying here to work.

The good news is that I will finally get to see how much my kids love me by how much they miss me. Heh...I mean...the good news is that our new closing date is July 12th! (as opposed to our first closing date of May 10).

The bad news is....I don't know how to live without my family! I mean, they are such good fodder for this here blog. But honestly, I live for them. I complain about waking up early...but it's usually with a cuddle...or a kiss...though sometimes peed in pants. Needy hands...needing me. A handsome Hubs to love on to talk to..

I will have a ton of time on my hands....but I will also have almost nothing to do. I will get to sleep in...that's awesome. But I can't go clean my house. I won't need to go grocery shopping. I won't need to drive anyone anywhere. Sigh. What's a busy mom with nothing to do...to do?

Any tips?

Girly Man

I am in love with a girly man!

When I say girly, I don't mean he looks girly because he doesn't. He does P90X2 almost everyday. So he has a manly body.

I don't mean that he asks to wear my clothes....that would be weird. Weird because he's my husband and weird because I've had 5 children come out of my body and he hasn't. I wouldn't exactly say we are the same size...

And I don't mean that he talks girly...although when he calls me via the relay and the interpreter is female...yeah, it's a little weird.

No, he is, in every sense of the word a guy's guy. Athletic. Humble. Handsome.

But he is a little girl-like.

For example:

He loves to shop. He loves to walk the mall and go into all the stores. When we go into Sam's Club, he loves walking down every aisle. The man loves to shop.

He has more shoes than I do. That's really not saying much, seeing as I have one pair of running shoes, sandals, and a pair I wear to church. Beating me is not hard. But he has shoes for every sport...football, working out, racquetball, biking, etc. Plus the normal stuff...sandals, church, tennis shoes. The man has choices.

He also has more clothes. I know this to be true. He has denied it in the past, but today as we were packing our bedroom I could prove it. He has T-shirts, nice shirts, sweatshirts, dress shirts, suits, vests, pants, shorts, exercise shorts. He had three full bins.

Me? One.

He has been known to say, on more than one occasion, "I think I want a new wardrobe." Seriously? Seriously!!!. This man cracks me up!! Such a girl.

What does your man do that is...well...girly?
