Moooving right along!

I have a child who loves milk. If given the choice between milk and almost any other beverage, he would choose milk. Honestly, I think if he could bathe in it. So glad he can't because that would just be nasty. Really.

This is the same child who gets headaches. All. The. Time. As in, he lives daily with headaches, sometimes they are livable and other days they are crippling.  This has been happening since he was seven years old. He is now eleven. We had tried every
thing: visiting the pediatrician, dentist, optometrist, chiropractor, neurologist, MRI, loading him up with water, veggies, meat, etc. Nothing helped!

One day, this milk loving child had a large Oreo blizzard which was quickly followed by a massive migraine.

Hmmmm. Veddy Interesting!

So we cut all milk from our milk loving child, for a week. And guess what! Not one headache. All week. Holy cow! It was that simple.

Not only that, but Hubs who also suffers with headaches, did the cut too. And wouldn't you know it...zero headaches.

How did we not figure this out sooner? Maybe you all are saying, "Well, duuuuuh!" But not even the multiple specialists we went to asked about his diet. Weird.

No matter. Now that we know the cause, we can keep an eye on it. Now that we know, we can hopefully prevent them. Now that we know, this mama can feel at ease...for the moment.

Dang dairy!

I am so grateful that you made this connection. What a blessing for your son AND husband.

And for you as a mother, too. There's nothing worse than seeing people you love in pain.

=)

At least you did figure it out. We beat ourselves up enough as moms, so let yourself off for not figuring it out soon enough.

So glad that you did figure it out. ..what a relief for everyone concerned.

Glad you figured it out! Headaches are terrible things.

That's great you were able to figure it own on your own. Who needs dairy anyway?! Not Brady and I...yuk! (Except for ice cream, of course!)

You know... of all the specialists we saw about Youngest's issues and behavoir, NONE of them thought about his diet. They all wanted to medicate him.

I took him off Gluten. 3 weeks later I was able to take him off all his meds.

Sometimes it's the simple answers.

Wow! I'm glad that you were able to figure it out. Who would have thought?

Okay first, I love that you have a section in your header called "oops there goes my butt."

Seriously?

We can be friends.

And I'm so sorry about the headaches for all these years and the fact that a lover of milk will have to abstain from now on...

But how spectacular to finally find relief.

Really. Congratulations for that.

The future's looking bright...

Good for him!
My daughter was having chronic headaches and the first thing her ped had us do was start a food/activity diary to see if we could find a connection. It turned out to be her sinuses though, antibiotics & nasal spray made hers much better.

How interesting. It's like as if they're both allergic to dairy without having the usual allergic reactions to it. Well at least you figured it out! This is definitely not a "no, duh" thing since headaches can be caused by anything. I get a bad headache every time I look at our messy living room. If I can cut out the mess the same way you did with dairy, I'm sure my headaches will go away too :)
